CUSTOM HOMES

A custom home, unique as your fingerprint.

With a focus on quality – not quantity – Talon Home Builders offers a one-of-a-kind-every-time experience!

CUSTOM HOME BUILDING

Designed Around Your Family’s Needs

A custom home starts with inspirations, conversations and a white page. The layout, finishes, and details are aligned to the way you envision utilizing the spaces. From the common areas to the bedroom retreats – each space is thoughtfully configured to fit the unique lifestyle of the client. Custom building allows you to plan for everything from the ground up! No detail is too small to consider – impact-rated windows, energy-efficient cooling, exterior aesthetics, and decorative materials that allow you to show off your individual style – all of the elements become part of the design rather than an afterthought. The result is a home that fits your family instead of one your family has to fit into.

You decide the size, the style, the flow, and the materials. You also choose the lot, whether it’s one you already own or one we help you find. At Talon, Tom and Jennie Shumway guide every home from the first conversation to the final walkthrough. You work with the owners the entire way.

WHAT WE DO

The work, plainly stated.

Where honest numbers meet careful craft.

DESIGN AND BUILD

Talon Home Builders works with your architect or its own engineering/drafting partner. Plans get priced as they are drawn, so the design and the budget stay in the same room.

BUILD ON YOUR LOT

Your land, your street, your view. We walk the site, read the survey, and tell you what it will really take to build there.

COASTAL CONSTRUCTION

Block, elevated slabs, impact glass, and flood requirements. Talon Home Builders builds to or exceeds coastal standards. We build for the Gulf Coast because it is the only place we build.

INTERIOR SELECTIONS

Cabinetry, tile, trim, and lighting handled with real allowances. You know what each choice costs before you make it. We guide you toward selections that look custom without stretching the budget.

FROM OUR CLIENTS

SEE ALL TESTIMONIALS

“My wife and I completed a custom build in Sarasota at the end of 2023, working with Tom and Jennie from Talon Home Builders throughout the entire project. As Canadians managing the build remotely, much of our communication was done online — and the Talon Home Builders team made the process seamless from start to finish. Tom and Jennie were professional, responsive, and a true pleasure to work with. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality were evident every step of the way. We would highly recommend Talon Home Builders to anyone considering a custom build, and if we ever take on another project, we wouldn’t hesitate to work with Tom and Jennie again.”
